Anto is a Tamandua, or Lesser
Anteater (so named because of it smaller size as compared to its larger cousin, the Giant Anteater).
Anto has been created using beautiful soft
black and soft gold Schulte mohair with pink ultrasuede paw pads and black ultrasuede ears. He is firmly stuffed with
polyfil and a bag of steel shot nestles in his tummy for added weight. He is 6-way nut and bolt jointed (including
a double jointed neck) and has wire armature
in his body/tail and legs. His high quality glass taxidermy eyes have been set into wired polymer clay sockets,
with additional fabric sewn over to represent upper and lower lids. His nose has been made from polymer clay
as are his claws; they have all been given wire backs to allow secure fixing to the face/feet. The nose has been lacquered to give it a healthy shine.
Extensive scissor-sculpting and airbrush detailing have been utilised to try and replicate the Tamandua look as closely
as possible.
Anto measures 19 inches from nose tip to tail tip and is 6
inches high.
