Jax is a special order Canadian lynx (Lynx
canadensis), he took almost 3 months to complete and is my largest creation to date.
He has been created from all white Schulte synthetic fabrics and has
been stuffed with Bouncifil and a bag of plastic pellets in his tummy for added weight. His front and back legs have
internal wire armature for posing and there is an additional wire 'spine' running down from his head into his tail.
Each paw has been needlesculpted and has individually applied stuffed ultrasuede pads.
Jax has
beautiful high quality realistic glass taxidermy eyes set into specially constructed eye sockets ringed with leather cord.
His nose has been sculpted from polymer clay, shaded with acrylic paints and sealed with a matt varnish.
His mouth is constructed using perle cotton thread and his whiskers are horsehair.
He has been extensively
scissor sculpted and his fur markings have been completely hand shaded using an airbrush. There is an Arcas Designs fabric
tag sewn in just under his tail.
Jax is a large cat measuring approx 18.5" from the tips of his ears (not including
those distinctive ear tufts) to the base of his paws, 17" front to back and 21" from nose to bottom.
